On March 2-4, the most important event in the world of coffee and tea - Russian Coffee & Tea Industry Event - was held in Moscow, within three days the number of visitors has reached 4,000 people from Russia, the CIS and the far abroad.
More than 80 companies from Russia, Germany, Italy, Kenya, Korea, Hong Kong, China, Japan and other countries were the exhibitors of RUCTIE this year. On various educational platforms more than 100 speakers have performed, more than 25 coffee and tea tastings, more than 30 seminars and lectures, as well as 22 sessions on current issues and prospects of tea and coffee markets, were delivered. This year, a special attention was drawn to the professional tea and coffee competitions, as also to the conference program, which was held in a new format.
From year to year, the exhibition attracts more and more key players and representatives of the tea and coffee industries: tea and coffee producers, suppliers, exporters, importers, distributors, manufacturers of all types of tea and coffee equipment, packaging and packaging equipment, various ingredients and accessories for industries, as well as producers of finished products, roasters, technologists, representatives of commercial enterprises, retail networks and the HoReCa segment.
In the exhibition, on various platforms were held 7 coffee championships, the Tea Masters Cup Russia, seminars, educational programs, master classes, tastings, discussions, the 7th Moscow International Coffee Forum and the 6th Moscow International Tea Symposium, which have already become a tradition.
On the Tea Masters Cup Russia for the first time the new rules were implemented also there were not 3, but 4 categories of competitions: "Tea Preparation", "Tea Pairing", "Tea Tasting", "Tea Mixology".

On the platform of RUCTIE in the framework of the Russian barista Days (RBD) there also were championships among coffee professionals: The Russian qualifying tour of the World Barista Championship 2017 (Barista Championship), the Russian tour of the World Brewers Cup Championship 2017 (Brewers Cup), the Russian qualifying round of the World Cup Tasters Championship, 2017 (Cup Tasting), and the Moscow qualifying round of Latte Art Championship as well as 3 localcompetitions: The Coffee Mixology Championship, the Russian Coffee Fragrance Championship and the Roaster of the Year National Award.

Traditionally, after the second day of the exhibition, the winners of the honorary rank the "Person of the Year" in the coffee and tea industries according to Coffee and tea in Russia magazine were officially awarded. The "Person of the Year" in the coffee industry is Tatiana Elizarova, a quality consultant for SFT-Trading. The award was presented for a long-year contribution to the development of the Russian coffee market and the promotion of coffee, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of working of the coffee industry. Radhakrishnan Baskaran was awarded as the "Person of the Year" in the tea industry, for many years of contribution to the development of the Russian tea market and on the occasion of the 60th anniversary.
