RUCTIE 2016: tight program and the new champions

From 1 to 3 March in "Sokolniki" (Moscow) was held the international coffee and tea event Russian Coffee & Tea Industry Event 2016 (RUCTIE).

March, 1-3, 2016, ECC Sokolniki (Moscow) host the Russian Coffee & Tea Industry Event 2016 (RUCTIE). RUCTIE is the key industrial event for production chain from bean and leaf to cup, which consisted of conferences, exhibitions and professional competitions. It can be considered as the largest industry event in Russia and other CIS countries. Russian Coffee & Tea Industry Event in 2016 was attended by more than 4000 experts in the field of tea and coffee, technologists, producers, distributors, owners of coffee shops, tea clubs and shops, baristas and tea masters. More than 50 companies from Russia, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Korea, Peru, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia and Japan represented rheir products and services at the RUCTIE. Within the RUCTIE the 6th Moscow International Coffee Forum and the 5th Moscow International Tea Symposium took place where more than 50 seminars, workshops and tastings were held. The central themes of the conference program were: Import substitution and domestic raw material base, Situation on the Russian market of coffee and tea, Trends in Food, The Russian consumer in crisis and others Among the speakers there were representatives of business and industry associations, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Krasnodar Territory (Vladimir Grishko), Russian Diabetes Association (Mikhail Bogomolov), research companies (Euromonitor International, Nielsen, NDP group, GFK). Presentations were made by the General Sales Manager Food&Beverage CFBU Kai Wulff and Product Engineer Food and Beverage Denis Ingildeev of Glatfelter, the Representative of coffee department Marina Sedyki and director of sales of the coffee division Marina Sedyki and Head of Sales Business Unit Coffee Christoph Ziegler from the company Buhler AG, Export manager of La Marzocco Andrea Kurtarelli invited by Franco company, Exclusive distributor of Probat Oleg Kondaurov, Discaf company representative in Russia Andrei Kurbatkin, AkvaBrit company training manager Lyudmila Bachinina and Business coach Larisa Zorina. The Practicum was full of unique educational seminars. There were activities made by representatives of the Institute of Puer Tea, Swedish specialist Johan Aglen invited by Coffee Paradise, Hiroyuki Mori from Japan Association for Trade with Russia and the Newly Independent States (ROTOBO), Viktor Kuznetsov, Olga Karakozova and authorized SCAE trainer Ivan Makarenkov. In the zone of Tasting lab visitors could try different varieties and types of coffee and tea, what was being prepared right in front of them. Under the guidance of an expert Andrew Nikitin there were held tastings of Krasnodar teas and willow-teas. Coffee cuppings were conducted during all days of the RUCTIE by specialists from Coffee Importers KLD, Kafema and Cocar. Sponsor of the Tasting Lab was the company "AKVABRIT". Lectures and seminars on RUCTIE were complemented by the work of Factory roasting. In this special zone visitors can get acquainted with the work of a roasting equipment, get valuable tips from experts, as well as pick up a sample of freshly roasted coffee. Sponsors of the Factory roasting made were: DiScaf, Greenkof, Bühler AG, Coffee Importers KLD, Aris-pack. At a special zone called Brew Bar specialists in the field of coffee and tea treated visitors with delicious drinks. The sponsors of the zone were: "Aleph Trade", "Lalibela Coffee" and the resource Live :) ibodr.com and HARIO!. Disposable cups for this and other zones were provided the sponsoring company Metro Cash & Carry. Bunn Company acted as technical partner of the exhibition, providing boilers and grinders, and the Voda Online company provided RUCTIE with the necessary water. Sugar and chocolate for event was provided by the Rosshokolad company. In addition to the exhibition, conference sessions and practical educational programs on RUCTIE there were the final stage of the national professional competitions, which brought together a huge number of young people. The winners of the final qualifying round of the Tea Masters Cup Russia were: Tatiana Deynega (Tea Preparatin category), Ustinov Kosterkina (Tea Pairing category) and Anna Belova (Tea Tasting category) The panel of judges this year consisted of: Denis Shumakov, Alena Velichko, Shamal De Silva, Denis Rudenko and Maria Semeniuk. Carrying the championship on a such high professional level was possible thanks to the sponsorship of companies: Group of companies Orimi Trade, Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation (represented by the Sri Lanka Tea Board), Rusteacoffee Association, Bunn company, Voda Online company. Within the RUCTIE was also held the final round of the first professional championship of tea mixology - Althaus Mixology, organized by the Alef Trade company. The first place in this competition took David Stenshin (Duran Bar, Moscow), who won a trip to Sri Lanka. The organizers of RUCTIE are presented by business magazines "Coffee & Tea in Russia» / Coffee & Tea International and "Rusteacoffee" Association. Invaluable assistance in conducting activities was gotten from volunteers of chain of coffee houses Shokoladnitsa"and students of the Institute of Hospitality and Tourism PFUR.
